I have Fedora Core 4 and I want to upgrade it to recent releases (may be 18 or later). I read an article about FedUp. Is it applicable to Fedora Core 4 too? I am afraid it is too old. I would appreciate it if someone could answer how I should approach.

$ cat /etc/redhat-release Fedora Core release 4 (Stentz)

Absolutely not. Save critical data and do a fresh install. It will save you both time and aggrevation. Also, fedup or preupgrade won't work with a release as old as Fedora Core 4.

Backup, fresh install, restore.
