Bottom half of touchpad not working- Fedora 20

Hey, the bottom half of my touchpad stopped recognizing touch events after updating (from fresh install where it worked as it should). When I start touching on the bottom half it doesnt do anything, however if I go up to the top half the cursor starts moving. Also if I start touching in the top half it works normally.

Is there any way to either fix this or make it work like on the fresh install? I don't know which package update causes this since there are like 500 packages updated.

Laptop is a Lenovo L440.

Didn't really notice until I read this, but I have the same issue - DELL Inspiron 7720 For me even 1/3 on the right is inactive - It looks like that the active size of touchpad is not recognized and some default size is used ?

Same problem here with the L440. It started about two weeks ago.

Hi, same problem with Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E440. There is special touchpad without hw buttons, but whole touchpad is one big button. Now, I find out that the touchpad works well in Fedora 20 live. So, there has to be some "bad" patch/upgrade of synaptics. I downgrade synaptics to old package synaptics 1.7.1 and it works well.
