Fedora 20 on mid-2010 Macbook Pro (OS X Mavericks)

I've just installed Fedora 20 on my mid-2010 Macbook Pro (Intel Core i5 2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M) so I can dual boot. I run the Macbook with 2x externals 21" monitors (1x DisplayPort, 1x USB). The performance is very sluggish, for example the mouse jumps from point to point making the install unusable. Does anyone have any advice on how perhaps to overcome this?
