I'm a noob and I'm trying to transfer data from my OS to an external SSD that I just bought. Series TGS-S350 SATA 6GB/s. When I plugged it in, it didn't even show up under the devices thingy. What do I do?

Here my device is /dev/sdb, and contains one partition (/dev/sdb1). Your device names may vary of course.
