Fedora 18 VMWare 9, password reset in GRUB Boot Menu
Hi,
I've been trying to figure out how to reset my password and have gone through number of posts to try and solve this. But when I boot and press 'e' to start up the grub root menu, I don't see a kernel line that I can edit to go into single user mode.
The lines I see are:
setparams 'Fedora' load_video set gfxpayload=keep insmod gzio insmod part_msdos
The root menu before this just has the options for 'Fedora' and 'Advanced options for Fedora'. I also can't use the 'passwd' command in the grub command line, although 'password' works but I couldn't reset it successfully. I don't remember ever even entering a password when I installed this. I also tried CTRL+ALT+F2, and typed 'root', and a blank password, and it still didn't work.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
