How can I group program starters in my application list (as Sundry and Utilities is grouped by default)?

Thanks Florian

What's the current status (Gnome 3.18 or 3.20) on this issue?

Refer to this page for detailed screenshots and instructions.

Summary: It is a bit tedious now but 3.12 (Fedora 21 will ship with 3.14) will have a much better system as described here

Will 3.12 be part of Fedora 20 at some point?

I don't think so but it depends on the desktop team

Unfortunately I don't understand those instructions or they are incomplete (Stage 1: Gnome 3.8). OK, creating a folder Games, System, Office, Multimedia with dconf-editor was pretty easy but how do I define which applications belong to which group/category? Instructions for Gnome 3.10 (Creating AppsFolders 2) don't work for me or I don't understand how to do. Any further hints? Thanks!

Does someone know how to create new categories? How do I define which programs belong a certain category?
