Hello everyone!

I have Fedora 20 Mate installed on an ACER Aspire all-in-one, dual-booting with Windows 8.1. Now trying to configure a VPN PPTP Internet connection in Fedora. After wasting ~2 days I have discovered that the problem is most likely with the Network Manager plugins (PPTP doesn't appear in the connection options). Fedora 20 uses the 'ifcfg-rh' as the default plugin which "does not yet support reading or writing mobile broadband, PPPoE, or VPN connections". So I've learnt that I have to add the 'keyfile' plugin as the preferred one before the 'ifcfg-rh' plugin. So, the 'NetworkManager.conf' file should read:

plugins=keyfile,ifcfg-rh

This seems to be a solution, as far as I understood. However, I am puzzled about how to edit the 'NetworkManager.conf' file. Can't edit it in the Pluma editor: it is in read-only mode.

I appreciate your ideas, if any! I am very new to Linux, so a detailed guide or links will be greatly appreciated. This thing cost me 2 days already!!! Thanks.
