Upgrade fedora 18 to fedora 20 via yum or fedup
Hi, I have fedora 18 on my PC.
Here my PC specs:
-AMD Processor
-Ram 4Gb
-Motherboard Gigabyte
-OS Fedora 18 x64
My questions is.. Is it possible upgrade my F18 to F20 via fedup on yum?
and if it's possible.. Is it official now or I should stay tuned for upgrade via yum?
My main concern is my data :)
Thanks in advance !
If your main concern is data, then I would get the network boot media (presuming your internet connection is fast enough) and install F20 that way; as more then likely every piece of software you've already got installed will get updated anyway. Obviously if your internet is too slow then don't get the network boot iso, but rather a live DVD of your choice. I feel the pain of not having much internet, as I used to have 512mb. If you need too, you could get the DVDs from osdisc.com (F20 is not on there yet, just give them a week or so).
i %99 sure that you can't upgrade from 18 to 20 , the upgrades are from version to version 18 to 19 , 19 to 20 .
so you need download fedora 20 and later install, is the best way ;)
good luck !
You're right, I think I will do a backup of my data and then I will install F20 via DVD, of course I will burn the ISO before ;) Thanks for your comments !
Before making any unpdate or install it is ever a goog idea make a backup, I made a update from Fedora 17 to Fedora 19, so update from 18 to 20 it is posible.
