Hi, im on a lenovo laptop (g505s) and im trying to install fedora 19. The laptop is days old, and came preloaded with windows 8. I have created a usb with the dvd .iso, 64bit, using linux live usb creator. Now when I try and open the virtual box files on the stick nothing much happenes, the sofware loads but fedora does not. So I tried the advanced boot option on windows 8 with the usb stick in and fedora began to say hello but then does this after a long pause

[ OK ] Reached target Basic System.
dracut-initqueue[369]: Warning: Could not boot.
dracut-initqueue[369]: Warning: /dev/root does not exist
         Starting Dracut Emergency Shell...
Warning: /dev/root does not exist

Generating "/run/intramfs/sosreport.txt"

I copied this from another forum as i dont know how to get the sosreport.txt in windows. Please can anyone point me in the right direction?

I have searched on this but only find what i beleive to be linux fixes not windows, either that or i just dont get it. Any help is appreciated.

What do you want? Dual boot? Windows and Fedora or only Fedora?

You may just need to make a better image - for Windows, Win32 Disk Imager works OK.

Try writing using a 32bit image, I found that worked better on my Lenovo G570.

There are guides here:

For the last one look at Chapters 2 and 3. It recommends using Fedora's Live USB creator -
