After using the file manager for normal operation, I noticed that Nautilus won't launch, nor from GUI neither from CLI. What is the reason? I have no found any related long in dmesg, and executing on CLI doesn't print anything.

Restarting the whole system is a cure, but I would like another option less counterproductive.

Turns out, that kill all nautilus process is a radical solution, although better than issuing a system restart.

Just type:

killall nautilus

Then use the GUI or CLI to open Nautilus.

This solution also worked for me in Fedora 22
