I installed Fedora core 6 on an old system. It mounts and reads a usb thumbdrive normally, but when I write to that drive, it gets powered off (its LED goes off) and the directory on it is found to contain corrupted entries for the files I attempted to make. I can boot the system from a Free Software Foundation CD, and then mount, read and write the usb drive without problems. So I suspect a driver issue. Where should I look for updates?
