I just installed F19 and can't see any lock listed in user menu. I tried with $ gnome-screensaver-command -l still it doesn't work. Ctrl+Alt+l also not working Please advice.
If you install fedora19 from the live media, you'll not get the 'lock','sleep' options in GUI. For that you have to update your fedora system by default application manager(it will required about 350 MB).
I have already updated system, please see screenshot when I try to update it says its updated. https://ask.fedoraproject.org/upfiles/13833946015762477.png (image description) is there any specific patch you asking me to update?
The following works for me on Fedora 19 (https://wiki.fysik.dtu.dk/it/Fedora_Linux_Tips_and_Tricks#lock-screen):
su -c 'yum install gnome-screensaver'
mkdir -p ~/.config/autostart
cp /etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-screensaver.desktop ~/.config/autostart
# Remove line with AutostartCondition
sed -i '/AutostartCondition/d' ~/.config/autostart/gnome-screensaver.desktop
Then logout and login again. This https://ask.fedoraproject.org/question/33611/lock-screen-issue/ does not work for me without gnome-screensaver running.
Just a comment: this does not create GUI user menu option for 'lock' (available in Gnome on Fedora 18 without any tricks), only makes ctrl+alt+l working, which is better than nothing.
Not sure what exactly going on...
