please help,problem in installing gcc in fedora 15

i have installed fedora 15 in vmworkstation. gcc is not installing.when i use yum command it says cannot retrive repoistry metadata.please verify the path. what i have to do now.

Must you really install Fedora 15? You should avoid old versions of Linux distros. The old software may have critical security flaws or bugs that can lead to data loss. Fedora releases reach end-of-life very quickly, so you practically must upgrade every year.

That's because Fedora 15 has reached end of life. You would need to point your repositories to a fedora archives. Try this (for 32 - bit) -

rpm -Uhv http://archives.fedoraproject.org/pub/archive/fedora/linux/releases/<releasenumber>/Fedora/i386/os/Packages/fedora-release-*.noarch.rpm

For 64 - bit, change i386 to x86_64. After installing the repositories, try install gcc using yum. You might have to do similar change for other repositories as well.
