LibreOffice (LO) tells me a new update is available. And of course, I want to have it and improve the application from 4.1.1.2 to 4.1.2; LO says I have to download the update and install it manually afterwards.

My question is, if there is a simpler way using the terminal? Is there a command that updates LO automatically?

Thx for your help!

I am unaware of a command line tool to specifically update libreoffice.

But, if you had installed libreoffice using yum, just wait for Fedora repository to be updated and you can update using yum directly. Just a regular yum update would suffice.

Just for information - The current libreoffice version in F19 is 4.1.2.3-3. Are you running F19?

I use F18. I tried 'yum update' and the overdue system update was successfully executed, but it didn't update libreoffice.

Did you install libreoffice using yum? I believe the more recent version of LO in F18 would be 3.6.7. Since Fedora does not permit major version upgrades for a specific package - like 3.x to 4.x (except for kernel), it might not be possible to use yum.

So, you might have to manually update libreoffice ....
