I am not able to change the icons fedora 19. I'm using gnome-tweak-tool, but when I change the theme icons, nothing happens. What can I do? Thanks, Daniel

Can you launch the gnome-tweak-tool from the terminal and see what errors it gives?

Packages of icons that are in/usr/share/icons do not obey the command of gnome-tweak-tool or terminal. I solved the problem by placing the packages of icons in /home/user/.icons. Only the latter work when I change the gnome tweak tool. It is enough for me! Thank you for answers! :)

I managed to get Faince icons working as follows:

  • installing RPM, sudo yum install faience-icon-theme.noarch
  • use gnome-tweak-tool to set the icon theme under Theme -> Icon Theme
  • then I had to reboot my PC (reloading gnome shell and logging out/in did not help)
