I am trying to sync my dropbox folder with the online dropbox. There must be some command to sync, right?

If you start dropbox, it will sync automatically the contents of your local dropbox folder with your online account.

You can start it either by clicking the icon, or either by command line by issuing the following command

$ dropbox start

For more options, please issue this command:

$ dropbox status

Just a note here - dropbox command will only be available when installed using the nautilus-dropbox rpm provided. If dropbox was setup without using the provided rpm, this cannot be used.

If you have set everything up correctly it should sync automatically. If for some reason, it has crashed, you can restart Dropbox using the command -

./.dropbox-dist/dropbox [Note: this assumes that you are already in ~ which is where this folder is located.]

This should restart Dropbox and it should sync (assuming none of the settings have been changed to affect syncing) assuming an account is already setup. If not, you can setup the account following the instructions on the screen.

If you downloaded the rpm from Dropbox website, that would be nautilus-dropbox which would have put a launcher in your menu. Dropbox can also be started using that menu.

Now, one other reason that Dropbox does not seem to sync might be limitations on the bandwidth in dropbox preferences.

Hope that helps.
