I just installed Fedora 19, 32 bit and there is an HP printer attached to a windows machine on the other side of the house and I would like to access it from the fedora machine. I thought I installed cups but there is no record of it.

Please help.

You may need to

yum install system-config-printer

first to see the "true" printer settings panel. The original one is rubbish to me.

For a mortal human being it is not possible to add a printer to GNU/:Linux. You need a real live wizard for that. Sorry.

All the print settings can be accessed by clicking on the right-hand top corner, and choose settings. On the new window, select the component printers. Click the button Unlock and enter your password. Press Add new printer, cups will scan your network to find the printer.

Did you try this method ?
