I've got a network printer installed (at my school) that works perfectly in all respects save this: it persistently reports that the printer is "out of paper." And this generates an exclamation point over the printer icon in the notification tray and in the Printers Admin dialogue box.

No, the printer is not out of paper.

Here's my question: is there a way to prevent the error from being reported? Keep the notification area icon and Printers Admin icon clear . . .?

I'm using Fedora 19 Xfce Spin - Dell Inspiron 1545 64bit - 4G Ram

Thanks Ken

Please follow the steps at http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_debug_printing_problems and report the bug at https://bugzilla.redhat.com. There was a similar bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=678660 but closed due to inactivity. I remember having the same problem, but on Fedora 18, now on Fedora 19 the problem is gone.

What is this Printer Admin? A Xfce panel widget?

The printer is a Toshiba eStudio 756 copier. And yes, the "Printer Admin" is an Xfce widget. I called it incorrectly: from the menu: [start] [administration] [print settings] . . . now filing a bug report . . . probably not. That's why I'm here asking a question: to get a relatively quick answer. Bug reports get filed and maybe someone gets around to it . . . maybe not. I know, I know, this isn't a good attitude, I should do better, I owed it to the community . . . but (a) everything prints fine -- no problems -- and (b) i was hoping someone just knew the answer.
