Is there a reason to re-compile the kernel anymore? And where can I find instructions to do so.
Back in the day, I ran RedHat, and the first thing I did was re-compile the kernel for my hardware. The machine ran faster, and was less "glitchy"
Sorry, but this website is for asking questions about technical problems (with detailled explanations) and is not a forum. If you have a specific problem please explain it.
thanks
And you should've posted that as a comment and flagged the question. This is not an answer. Besides, the question can be reformulated to fit the format quite easily, see my comment.
Try to reformulate your question to ask whether this is still beneficial, not whether people are still doing it. The body can stay the same.

Then it's OK to use the answer field I guess.
