I've got some problems with my wlan. I've got fedora 18 with kde in my hp pavilion dm4, it works great but now i can't use the wireless connection.

lo no wireless extensions.

em1 no wireless extensions.

wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:off/any
          Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=off
          Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:off
          Power Management:off

ifconfig wlan0 up
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operación imposible por estar la radiofrecuencia desactivada

I don't know what's the problem, i believe that wlan0 is turned off, but when i press f12 nothing happened, (the other function buttons work fine).

Sometimes Hardware hotkeys do not work out of the box on some laptops. You could check your BIOS/UEFI to see if there is a F1-F12 Standard/Hotkey option.

Also, you could try doing ifdown/ifup wlan0 instead of ifconfig wlan0 up so just issue the following command and post the output: "ifup wlan0" That should turn on the wireless card and allow you to use the GUI/cli to configure your network(s) etc.
