Hello. I have been running Fedora 14 KDE for more than 2 years and I wanted to update long time now. I thought of LXDE just cause I've never used it again. The problem is that every Live CD I've tried from 15 to 18, no matter the spin, is not compatible with my laptop screen's backlight. The screen brightness control didn't work in 14, but that wasn't a problem, although I didn't use to have it in full brightness before Fedora. Now the backlight is off all the time and I can't use my laptop to find a way to fix it. I noticed today that the screen is working and I can see some stuff (for example, when I use the brightness controls the bar is working at the bottom of the screen) but I can hardly see anything else. My laptop is an ACER ASPIRE 5732Z.

Edit: I just saw that under Troubleshooting there was a Basic Graphics option. This works on the Live CD, but will it work as well if I install it?
