Fedora 19 doesn't boot to GNOME desktop after installation to a HD
I've twice tried to install the 32-bit version of Fedora 19 to a hard drive from a live DVD and all I've gotten on each 1st bootup is a GRUB prompt. On both installation attempts I marked the HD as a boot device, but to no avail. The live media boots straight to the GNOME desktop without difficulty.
Can you please post more information? Did the install complete properly? Are you using a UEFI etc system?
Yes, both installations had obviously completed successfully, otherwise my question would be why they didn't. On both instances, the installer displayed a message saying the installation had completed successfully and all that was left to do was reboot. And I don't know what a UEFI system is, but I'm using a Dell Inspiron 8600, i386 architecture, with 2G of RAM and a 1.6GHz Pentium M processor.
You need to know whether your system is using secure boot or not. Try the steps here:
Am I missing something? I don't see any steps listed. At any rate, I don't believe my system uses Secure Boot. I've never seen anything of the kind in the BIOS menu, and I've never used any Microsoft OS on this system.
