I´m not able to install or create any virtual machine in Oracle VirtualBox I have installed DKMS after I installed VirtualBox. I followed the procedure of trying to reinstall the kernerl module on etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup as I execute the command it brings a message bash:vboxdrv: comando no encontrado...

Did some one cna help me with this issue.

Thanks, Alex Ruíz

  1. I think you should have installed dkms "before" virtual box so that it'll set it up. 2. would you please give the exact command and output you receive (for example, you should run /etc/init.d/vboxdrv rather than etc/init.d/vboxdrv (notice the initial /)). Also please give the output in English (run "export LANG=en_US.utf8" before running the command).

The advice in the other answer, to reinstall virtualbox, is probably overkill, and may cause you to lose data if you have pre-existing machines set up in it like I did. I found this in another thread that provides a very simple and fast solution without a reinstall. I can't post links, though, so here's a copy-paste with some additional clarification instead (origional poster was aestu on fedorapeople).

Get your version kernel:

$ uname -r

Then find the corresponding kmod-VirtualBox-* package:

$ yum search kmod-VirtualBox

and install it:

$ yum install kmod-VirtualBox-#### appropriate version from list in previous step

Finally, run:

$ /etc/sysconfig/modules/VirtualBox.modules

It's works! But the last command ($ /etc/sysconfig/modules/VirtualBox.modules) didn't works. By the way, it works without that line.

Thanks!

Try

yum install dkms binutils gcc make patch libgomp glibc-headers glibc-devel kernel-headers kernel-devel

then reboot, and try your

sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup

again. If that doesn't work, try:

sudo modprobe vboxdrv

then try the setup command again.

If all of that doesn't work, you'll probably want to just re-install Vbox. It's not the quickest way to solve your problem, but it will be the most painless.
