error installing gcc compiler in fedora 18

please tell me the details how to install gcc in fedora 18. it is giving the following error

Transaction Check Error: file /usr/lib64/audit from install of glibc-2.16-30.fc18.x86_64 conflicts with file from package audit-2.2.1-2.fc18.x86_64

edit retag flag offensive close merge delete

I don't see any conflict in my F18, but please first of all update your system before installing, because you seem to have an older version of audit than I have.

Try:

$ sudo yum remove audit*

$ sudo yum install gcc

$ sudo yum install audit #and whatever other packages it removed earlier
edit flag offensive delete link more
