How do you get an icon to remain in the top panel after its window has been minimized?
I've just installed Fedora 18, and the desktop has the annoying habit of completely disappearing an icon from the top bar when I minimize its window. I'd like to be able just to click the icon when I want the window to come back into view. Cheers.
Well, apparently my updated desktop software I installed finally took effect. I turned the computer on this morning and saw a very different desktop, one that works a lot like an older Ubuntu desktop, including the taskbar at the bottom and icons in the top panel. The time display setting had also changed, from a 24-hour format to the 12-hour format.
UPDATE: I've since learned that this was an instance of the GNOME desktop going into forced fallback mode. Thanx to damage caused by Synaptic Package Manager, I've reinstalled Fedora 18, and it hasn't happened since;]
