Installing Fedora Live 18 64bit from DVD .iso file onto Dell Latitude D630 laptop. Fedora Live comes up and I can click on the "Install to Hard Drive" graphics.

Nothing happens when I click on the continue button from the select language screen. I have English (United States) selected and have tried with the "keyboard to default layout" checkbox checked and unchecked.

I've also tried the 32bit .iso file.

Any ideas how to get started?

THanks.

There is an issue with the Fedora installer where after the language selection it scans the file systems that it sees and depending on your setup it could take a while.

On my system, for example, I had a previous installation with BTRFS used as the storage driver for docker. Scanning all the docker subvolumes took the installer about 30 minutes to complete.

You can open a terminal and run ps auxf to see what the installer does.

I was having the same exact problem, tried letting it just sit there and read the file system and when I woke up it was still stuck in the same menu.

I looked in the partition manager and apparently the partitions I tried to delete with parted on my gentoo liveUSB didn't actually go through with deletion. Like someone mentioned, I did in fact have a BRTFS partition on my drive.

I just deleted everything and launched the installer again and it worked perfectly. Hope this helps.

Hello,

I had the same issue.

When you login as live user you will see chose between "try fedora" and "install to hard drive". Do not chose "install to hard drive". Select "try fedora" and run "install to hard drive" from "Activities" later.

I hope this will help.
