I have an acer emachines e725, and I try to install Fedora 18 from usb.Problem is that brightness is very low, and when I try to install Fedora ( I mean, I press "Start Fedora 18 installation ), even with low brightness I see a console, where I can write. If I start basic graphic installation I got I guess the same console where I can see an error message ( some kind of /dev.... is missing ). What can I do?

What tool did you use to create the usb boot media?

I used live usb creator. I'll check that link.

It might be worth trying to add this to the kernel boot options (by pressing [tab] at the boot menu): acpi_backlight=vendor

there is /sys/class/backlight which will have directories for backlight hardware. In them will be a "brightness" and "max_brightness" entries.

echo (whatever was in max_brightness) >brightness will go to the top, but for example if max is 10, echoing 5 > brightness will be half brightness, if max is 250, echoing 125 will be half brightness.
