I updated the kernel 2 weeks ago, and now when I boot the new kernel 3.7.6-102, it hangs up on the line. "Started Avahi mDNS/DNS-SD stack."

I'm still booting on the old kernel, but with the new upgrade coming for F18. I don't want this problem to follow the upgrade. I don't think it will go away by itself.

I have checked my xorg.conf file and it has not changed from the time I removed the other video driver and went back to vesa. After F17 booted, the screen would become distorted, so I changed back.

I believe that both kernels use the same xorg.conf file anyways. Why I typed that, I don't know. Any ideas how I can get by this problem.

I just erased kernel 3.7.6 and updated to 3.7.9 and it does the same thing. I think its something in the new kernels. Now it stops at the Starting Login page.

I solved it. Brain freeze I guess. I went to my akmod logs and found that akmod did not update when I updated last time. I erased 3.7.9, updated akmod, updated the kernel, which updated the kernel module. It worked and is working just fine. If you run into this in the future. Check for complete updates.

We all know this before we post.
