Yes. Try the live cd.

It might not fit on a CD any more though. A USB drive, or a DVD would be needed. (The size is now > 700MB).

You can also try installing Fedora as a guest in a virtual machine manager such as Oracle's open source VirtualBox (my recommendation). You can have a complete installation of Fedora up and running with no impact to you your current OS. You could even have multiple guests running such as Fedora 17 and Fedora 18 simultaniously for comparison. If you decide you don't want it for any reason, just delete it.
