There are 3 different OpenJDK pacakges in the Fedora official repos : java-openjdk, java-1.8.0-openjdk and java-11-openjdk. What are the difference between these ?

Are they just different versions of the same JDK ? If yes, what is the purpose of keeping old versions of the JDK in the official repos ? Why the JDK version 8 hasn't the same nomenclature convention as the others ?

Thank you.

a) because a lot of java apps still rely on java 8. b) Im sure there is good reason for it, but will never be revealed ;)
