Is there any "official" (packaged and in the repos) version of the Realtek 8812AU/8811AU drivers for Fedora?

@simmon Sorry my question was not clear. Building that package from source works fine, I was just wondering if anyone had a version already packaged for Fedora (main repos, RPMFusion, COPR, etc.).

If the driver is not yet in mainline kernel then you won't find it in fedora. All drivers are in kernel-modules or kernel-modules-extra. Do a dnf copr search 8812 . It seems there is no package in COPR though. You better install dkms for having the driver from github recompiled after a kernel update.

@ tech4him - Have a nice day!

Generally, if the hardware complies with the standard, Fedora will automatically enable the device, so you do not need to install the driver.

However, if it is not installed automatically, it may be necessary to install the driver for hardware manufacturer or related device support and use.

Please refer to related materials.

To solve this problem, many people involved in various ways such as manufacturer or github have been able to create and use the driver.

Not all operating systems or hardware products can support a complete driver, so if you adhere to the standard in general, there will be no major problems in use and installation. But sometimes it does not work well.
