Fedora Workstation comes with Gnome as the default Desktop Environment. The minimum hardware requirements listed on docs is not sufficient to have fun with the Gnome Desktop. I would say it is minumum 2 GB, but much better 4GB.

The minumum listed there can be used if one wants to use a spin with a "lightweight" desktop.

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/...

  • 1GHz or faster processor
  • 1GB System Memory
  • 10GB unallocated drive space

GUI responsivenes is a separate and more subjective matter and depends more on the window manager you choose, the good news is that you can choose after installing or through different Fedora "spins", lightweight alternatives are Fedora XFCE or Fedora LXDE.

You should be ok with drivers, which are more of a concern for very modern hardware than for old hardware.

I presume you will be using the computer for browsing internet. I find this a more critical point, for the resources consumed by Firefox and/or Chrome. I find memory to be the most demanded resource.
