Fedora 29 Cinnamon desktop Epson drivers downloaded and installed without error

YET:

no Epson Scanner found just the webcam: device `v4l:/dev/video0' is a Noname BisonCam, NB Pro: BisonCam, NB virtual device
Gimp Xsane and Simple Scan only find webcam Simple scan: cannot send signal to scanner. Check scanner status
Since this was working about two weeks ago I am confused. Googling has found no answers for a scanner which is found but isn't
