I do "sudo dnf install discord" and it installs fine, but nothing shows up in the gnome "show applications" menu nor can I launch it from terminal.
It acts as if it isn't installed but I see the files when I do a search and everything seems to be in the right place.
First, discord is from RPMFusion. It looks like there's an issue with permissions.
Just by typing Discord (note the capital D) on the command line it says Permission denied.
Now, /usr/bin/Discord has right permissions but it is a symlink to -> /usr/lib64/discord/Discord which hasn't been marked as executable. So you only need to set:
sudo chmod ugo+x /usr/lib64/discord/Discord
After that, restart Gnome Shell (press Alt+F2 then type r and press Enter). You should now see the entry for Discord in Show Applications (if you have the Applications Menu extension enabled it should show up under the Internet section). Now everything should be okay.

@moneygold, you're welcome. Actually, commands with capitalized letters are rather unusual. I myself failed to find it at first. Only after listing the contents of the package with dnf repoquery --installed -l discord I figured it out. All in all, poor packaging I would say.
