Is there an advantage in using a Fedora Netinstall?
Fedora offer the option of doing a "netinstall" https://getfedora.org/en/workstation/...
If I understand correctly this is a smaller booteable image that:
1) let's you customize the spirit of your installation, for example a more KDE oriented, Gnome-oriented, publishing tools oriented, or plain mainstream Fedora. 2) It will download most of the installed packages on-the-fly.
A possible drawback is that it will try to download everything from the network. However if one if going to do an dnf upgrade
immediately this will happen anyway.
It seem that a netinstall is in some sense a cleaner installation of Fedora because all will be updated out of the box.
Is this a fair description of netinstall? does it have other drawbacks?
Comments
- i think that it's a method to install benefit
- using a old media also like cd boot, and fast make a image to set up more fast...economic
- it can be to customize and minimal install for system test in system
- fast network has......it'll be more fast update and make little trouble.
- It's show less media trouble than DVD media
- no good for netinstall
- It cause network traffic in normal DVD media...
- slow network....it'll be need to wait to get a source file to setup...and more patience.
- cd and dvd image similar method make a boot image. also it has media trouble.
