Fedora 28 screen blank during boot

I'm seeing some similar questions about blank or black screen after updating, but this one is a bit different, as I do get to the login screen, and this happens with all bootloaders GRUB, GRUB2, SMART, PLOP... I'v tried all the suggestions in related questions and checked that I'm using the correct drivers for my GTX card.

It's really just an annoyance as I can't see the text of the boot process, so I don't know if the system is having any issues during boot. But this might be more of a problem when I upgrade to version 29, as I won't know if the system has crashed or is still upgrading.
