wifi not connecting after upgrading

i upgraded fedora jam 27 to 29 via wifi. once the installation is completed the wifi driver is working and it is detecting the available networks but when i try to connect it displays 'configuring interface and then disconnects'. this is my first day with linux. bit of detailed error rectification procedure would be great.
