Fedora 29 & vmware workstation player [closed]
Hi everyone, i actually move to Fedora and so i downloaded the newest version (29).
Now i try to install the VMware Workstation Player 15 without success.
How i tried it:
- requirements:
sudo dnf install kernel-headers kernel-devel gcc glibc-headers
- make Vmware-Workstation15.bundle executable
- run the installer:
sudo ./Vmware-Workstation*15*.bundle
- Trace:
Extracting VMware Installer...done. You must accept the VMware Player End User License Agreement to continue.
So far so good, but i don't get the installer UI. Next try:
sudo ./Vmware-Workstation15.bundle --consoleAlso without success!
Here is the log: @Pastebin
As i see so far Fedora29 is yet not supported by VMware. But maybe someone also tried and can face the Problem?
I would be grateful for any help! Thanks in advance. Tommy
@tommyh , Install Vmware if always a pain find kernel pacthed touch code, etc but you have a option you can use KVM, libvirt or gnome-boxes that is install it by default , regards.,
Sure! But the problem is, that i must share my virtual-guest-systems with colleagues. And they all use Windows with VMware....
It is possible , I tested that with the default first kernel (4.18.16) on fedora 29, you can read that here
