XRDP override remote login

Is there a way to override another login for one user? I did not realize that you had to be signed out before you could use the xrdp server from a remote machine. (this made diagnosing my issues very hard since I remained logged into the machine the entire time)

For example: If I am logged into the server and using it locally, I want to be able to then switch over to a remote machine and xrdp into it without being required to log out. Additionally, I would like to then be able to take back control locally if I am having issues. As it stands right now, being logged in remotely completely locks me out of my own system which is far from ideal. Windows has this pretty well established.

To be clear, I don't need to log back into currently running remote sessions locally. It could just log me back into a new session. But, I just need to be able to log back in.

Let me know if I need to clarify anything about this post. :)
