Fedora 29/28 or Ubuntu 18.10, when it comes to graphics ?
I have a laptop with NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB ) graphics (laptop details mentioned below). Currently, it has Windows 10 installed in it. But, I want to migrate to the soon-to-released Fedora 29 or Ubuntu 18.10. I am not a gamer but my family and I watch lot of movies (1080Pixel quality mp4 files in VLC player), watch lots of videos in Youtube. My friends tell me if I I watch/stream lot of movies/videos, better go for Ubuntu (18.10) as Ubuntu uses better display drivers than Fedora in general. Is this true ?
For what you want do, I doubt it makes any difference what distro or driver you will use. I assume the open-source “nouveau” driver for NVIDIA cards shipped with Fedora will perform just fine.
