The bug is in the 4.18 kernel. You have to use 4.17 kernel. I have the exact same system and issue and this is the only thing I've found that works.
This is now resolved, looks like after doing a few bios updates the touchpad was working. Also had to disable wayland as it caused the laptop to verheat and made it slow when using mouse etc.
Tries BIOS update couldn't fix it, could help me please?
