dnf cat: write error: Broken pipe

hello all i just ran an update of the latest kernel kernel.i686 4.17.3-100 the current kernel im using has that problem again where the screen turns off and then the computer freezes when i press a key to login again but in the previous kernel it went away. ive ran another update and i got this error mesg in dnf:

  Running scriptlet: kernel-headers-4.17.2-100.fc27.i686                  50/50

what could this be? is it ok to use the new kernel? let me know what you think. thanks

This message is harmless, but confusing. It is fixed in fc28 so here you don't see the message. I can't tell if the the fix has been backported to fc27. It probably isn't
