Fedora 28, HDMI not working! PLEASE HELP!
I installed Fedora on a Sony VAIO laptop and want to connect it to an external monitor. The HDMI port doesn't to not output and my laptop is not seeing that there is another monitor. BIOS also doesn't show on the other monitor, just the laptop. The graphics is an Intel HD Graphics 4000. Anything I can do to get this to work?
Did you try with
arandr
? If it is not installed install it withsudo dnf install arandr
and start it in a terminal as normal user witharandr
. Then you can configure your outputs.I have tried with xrandr. The HDMI is not even showing up as connected. Screenshot
Most laptop have a keyboard button that toggles the display to the external monitor. also, check the hdmi cable, and make sure the external monitor is powered on.
