Upgrading to 26 instead of 27

Hello everyone. I am a new Fedora user, I am also not experienced with Linux in general. I had a Fedora 24 DVD and installed it and currently using it without any problems. But I see I can upgrade to version 27. After reading some pages about it I saw many people had some problems after the upgrade, as I am not experienced I don't want to have such problems because my knowledge is not enough to deal with most of them I guess. So I wanted to know if I can upgrade to 26 instead of 27, from 24?

Yes you can do upgrade to Fedora 26, but keep in mind that Fedora 26 is already getting unsupported. You could do upgrade to 26 work with it and the upgrade to 27.

To do this update follow the same step to do the upgrade only change the release to 26 look at this

The right way is to upgrade to a supported release, which is currently F27 and F28. Upgrading to F26 is a bad idea since it is not receiving any security patches anymore.

Moreover, F27 is as stable as F26. Fedora releases may have some bugs in the weeks or months after the release but F27 has certainly matured.

You can directly upgrade to fedora 28 ie latest stable release..but if u want a stable version I would suggest you to go with fedora 27.But as u r new to Linux u can use fedora 28 also.Lots of new features are added to it.

Thank you jo_111, I agree with you on staying at 27 as I don't want to have any problems with my current linux knowledge its better to not change it as long as it doesn't cause any security problems.

Don't worry about security on fedora 27 because still this version is supported by fedora.
