I have FFMPEG 2.8 for Fedora 28 installed with the compat-ffmpeg28 package, and want to use that version in the command line... but what is it called and where do I find it? Does not seem to be anywhere?

If you have installed the RPM package, you can run rpm -ql compat-ffmpeg28 to find all files that are shipped with it. If not, let us know how exactly you did install the compat-ffmpeg28 package.

ffmpeg compat is only ".so" libs... There isn't executable here... I can't said is a real compat ffmpeg... Do you want a real compat ffmpeg? Well UnitedRPMs has ffmpeg3...

There isn't any.

You can only get /usr/bin/ffmpeg as provides by the ffmpeg package version 4.0-1.
