Hey I just update my Fedora 27 to 28, and trying to start up the hotspot and I get this message while I turn on the hotspot "it is not possible to access the internet through your wireless while the hotspot is active " any thoughts what to do ?
You need a MU-MIMO capable WiFi module to rebroadcast WiFi. E.g. you can’t be connected to one WiFi network and simultaneously broadcast another without MU-MIMO support in hardware.
The error message is telling you that you need to upgrade your WiFi module. You can update the WiFi module on most laptops. Just unscrew it the back and see if you can identify the WiFi module. (If you can identify it successfully then you’ll probably also be able to find a MU-MIMO capable replacement card.
You could use a USB–WiFi adapter. Connect to your WiFi with one card, and share it with the other.
In any case, you’re facing hardware limitations here.
It is not possible to use the wireless for both internet connection and hotspot AFAIK.
Connection failed, activation of network connection failed
If you get this error when you try to sharing your internet connection through cable with wifi hotspot you may be missing dnsmasq package.
