How to release new package version?

I'd like to see a newer version of ranger package in Fedora 28, because current 1.7.2 is from 2015 and has broken search function. I already fixed release-monitoring thing for it and now there is a fresh bugreport about new version available.

So what should I do next?

Bodhi doesn't buildversions since 1.6.1 in Fedora 23. And on https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packag... page - upstream link is wrong and sources tab shows nothing.

Are you the package maintainer of ranger? If not, have you contacted the maintainer?

No, I am not package maintainer, and I guess package maintainer is busy of not interested, because there are open bugs about new versions in tracker and no actions.
