Hi folks,

I am having a problem getting Fedora28 to install on VirtualBox (upgraded to newest version). I downloaded the iso from getfedora as usual, and I can get to the boot screen... however after that it won't install and just presents me with a blinking cursor.

I have downloaded the iso using both Chrome and Firefox, and am setting up the VM with 2048mb ram, and 10gb virtual hard disk.

Any suggestions?

I'm speculating here, but I would venture to say that this could be the RNG bug in the 4.16.4+ kernels. The issue is documented here:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/CommonF28bugs#Bootprocessisverysloworappearstohangwithkernel4.16.4onwards

As per the wiki, typing randomly at the console during boot improves the boot time (mine was measured in minutes) as you are providing entropy for RNG to meet its requirements.
