Hello to everybody!

I want to update only the file system (compilers, network e.t.c) but the command "dnf update" includes all the applications like libreoffice. How can I update only the file system?

Thanks!

Use dnf update followed by the list of packages you want to update, so sudo dnf update gcc\* will only update all packages in your system which names begin with gcc. You can also use -x option for excluding packages from being updated. You can run sudo dnf check-update first to get the list of all available updates.

Uninstall libreoffice if you never use it or update it.

If you want to exclude packages from updates, use

excludepkgs= in /etc/dnf/dnf.conf (Documentation)
