video problems on firefox on fedora 28

After install RPMfusion repositories and run the below command

sudo dnf groupupdate multimedia

On firefox shows this. image description

Problems with twitter videos and Spotify-web. How can we fix that?

You must run this command too.

sudo dnf install compat-ffmpeg28
edit flag offensive delete link more



Among all other solutions across the internet, that was what solved the problem for me.

Indeed this finally works after having installed every other package out there and spent several hours. Other machines worked fine however without this package.

I doubt this is the problem, because I had this problem a few days ago... indeed compat-ffmpeg28 was installed May 11 for updating dnf... but I just removed compat-ffmpeg28, rebooted, and still list all the codecs being supported.

Maybe installing this package run a command that fix the problem without the package needed.

udo dnf install compat-ffmpeg28

didnt help at all...

sudo dnf install gstreamer1-plugin-openh264 mozilla-openh264 openh264 h264enc -y

fixed it only for Firefox but not for chromium.

Finally!!!!!! dude ive been serching for hours for a way to get firefox to play mp4 vids.... and this fixed it. works on fedora 29 Thank you
